About the Role:

As the Director (Identified) - Engagement and Partnerships, you will play an essential role in implementing Equity and Excellence: Realising the potential of every student through leading the First Nations Strategy and Partnership engagement and partnership team to support regions to deliver improved engagement strategies and to work across other government agencies to deliver improved outcomes for First Nations children.

Here's an overview of what you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading the management and coordination of the engagement and partnerships team.
  • Valuing First Nations cultures and voice both within the Department and across agencies to ensure authentic First Nations engagement.
  • Developing and implement strategies to strengthen knowledge, business systems and team performance to meet organisational and client needs.
  • Actively promoting the importance local decision making bodies to improve First Nations participation in the schooling system.
  • Prioritising the participation and engagement of all children and students in development and learning pathways.
  • Supporting First Nations teams in each region to implement First Nations Strategy and Partnerships Division's engagement and transition policies.

Mandatory Requirements for and Identified Role:

It is a genuine occupational requirement for Identified roles that the position be filled by an Aboriginal person or a Torres Strait Islander person as set out in Section 7 of the Anti Discrimination Act 1991 for the purposes contained in Section 25 of that Act.
