The Opportunity

The Director, Housing Infrastructure reports to the Executive Director, Regional Operations, Infrastructure Delivery and Operations Branch, Infrastructure Services Division.

This position currently leads a workforce of 21 FTE with the support of one manager and two project managers (direct reports), providing services to the Division in the management and coordination of teacher housing infrastructure and associated information related to the management of residential tenancies throughout Queensland and the provision of timely and accurate information relating to the department's asset base; ensuring all areas of our Division are well supported to concentrate on infrastructure service strategies, delivery and operations contributing to our ability to Build Education for Queensland.

The Director, Housing Infrastructure will be accountable for and lead duties associated with the role that includes:

  • Manage the emerging and ongoing operational aspects of DoE's teacher housing portfolio.
  • Manage the administration of the establishment, registration, recording and amendment of tenancy agreements for teachers, in accordance with legislation, and Whole of Government (WoG) and DoE policies.
  • Manage the administration of the rental collections for our customers through payroll deduction for all DoE teacher housing, as well as supporting Local Accommodation Committees in the performance of their tenancy management role.
  • Build strong, strategic alliances, relationships and networks to enhance lease and tenancy management with Local Accommodation Committees, state school principals, and departmental regional staff.

About You

  • Although not mandatory, a formal qualification in business or public service management is beneficial.
  • To be successful in the role of Director, Housing Infrastructure and Facilities Information you will possess experience in teacher housing management and administration, facilities system information management and be familiar with human resource management, stakeholder engagement and financial management.
