About the Role:

Education Systems Management is a large team of over 50 staff focused on customer support and engagement, managing expectations, process assurance and understanding our customer's needs. Teams are responsible for information technology-based delivery support for schools and corporate staff. These services include; level two support for the department's key applications (OneSchool including Finance, QParents, QTeachers, Office 365, QLearn and Internet Filtering) and Cybersafety and Reputational Management Advice and Support. The team's scope extends to managing application enhancements and stakeholder engagement processes, application governance and user acceptance testing co-ordination.

As the Director you will:

  • Provide the strategic leadership required to create a shared understanding and commitment to achieve organisational goals and objectives and encourage a culture of customer service.
  • Lead and manage the delivery of the unit's program of work by monitoring, evaluating and reporting on outputs, service delivery and performance, utilising change management when appropriate.
  • Partner with key internal and external stakeholders with a focus on collaboration and the achievement of departmental ICT objectives.
  • Provide high level strategic advice to the Assistant Director General, Information Technology Branch and senior management, influence effectiveness of the department's business processes, and other key stakeholders on integrated service delivery issues.
  • Develop the capacity of others through effective mentoring, coaching and professional development.
  • Ensure that the unit business plans are aligned with branch, department and whole of Government policies and strategies and provide input into ICT strategic and operational plans and the department's strategy for corporate governance.

About You:

  • Strong communicator.
  • Knowledge of how schools operate is desirable..
  • An understanding of leading product development as a product owner is desirable..
  • Ability to create and maintain a culture of continuous improvement
