Your Role:

The primary purpose of this role is to lead and manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver, assess and monitor a significant number of  contracts across many programs and services.  The Director is also responsible to ensure exceptional stakeholder engagement, and reporting responsibilities.  Early Childhood Programs and Funding are pivotal in supporting the delivery of programs and initiatives aimed at creating higher quality, more equitable and inclusive early childhood programs across Queensland.

The Director works collegially with other Director roles within the Branch, Division and Department and takes specific accountability for one or more areas of major responsibility.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of contract management frameworks, processes and systems, ensuring compliance with Government and departmental requirements.
  • Provide strategic direction, leadership and expert advice to the senior leadership team on policy, financial and contractual issues and trends.
  • Lead a number of improvement opportunities, including policy, program, financial and compliance strategies that establish best value government contract management.
  • Develop and implement mechanisms to monitor, evaluate and report on contract management performance and outcomes to key stakeholders and clients, using data and research to inform.
  • Foster a good work and team culture and lead, manage and develop human resources, finances and physical resources policy, financial and contractual issues and trends.

About You:

While there are no mandatory requirements, the following would be beneficial for the successful candidate to possess:

  • experience in contract management functions in a large Government department
  • highly developed data analysis and written communication skills
  • experience in time management and multi-tasking across a range of disciplines and projects
  • knowledge of, or ability to quickly acquire, Government policies and processes and Social Services Legislation
  • exemplary standards of diplomacy, discretion, personal integrity and confidentiality
  • significant ability to be innovative and identify creative solutions to complex issues
