The Deputy to the Headmaster is a senior executive leadership appointment responsible for the day-to-day operational leadership of the School. Working closely with the Headmaster and the broader Leadership Team, the Deputy provides strategic oversight across student wellbeing, leadership development, school operations and policy implementation, ensuring alignment with the School’s vision, values and strategic priorities.
This influential role supports and guides key leaders across the School while ensuring the consistent delivery of educational and pastoral programs across the Primary and Secondary schools and the Boarding community. The Deputy to the Headmaster also plays an important ambassadorial role, strengthening relationships with families, alumni, community partners and key stakeholders to support the School’s ongoing growth and development.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Outstanding record of effective leadership in a complex, innovative organisation.
- Dynamic, relationship based and accountable leader with ability and drive to deliver agreed strategies and objectives within a defined timeline.
- Outstanding communicator with a demonstrated and unimpeachable record of engaged leadership.
- Record as a consultative and participative leader and agent of change, who staff will engage with and follow.
- Exceptional talent and moral authority for promoting collegial and ethical behaviour across the School.
- An honourable and trustworthy leader, who exhibits courage and integrity, knows both compassion and empathy, and has sound judgement, emotional intelligence and self-discipline.
- A leader who facilitates the School’s Vision, Purpose, Ambition and Values and relates to the expectations and needs of students, parents and staff.
- Leadership skills to create and maintain close working relationships with the Headmaster and Leadership Team.
Offered as a full-time ongoing executive role, with a 2027 commencement, applicants must be eligible to work in Australia and be accredited teachers.
