About the School
Established in 1871, Yeronga State School is a medium sized, inner city school with heritage listing. The school is set on 4 hectares of leafy surrounds, with distinct Junior and Senior School precincts, catering for students from Prep – Year 6. Extensive sporting fields and courts, nature playgrounds, and learning hubs such as visual arts, music and STEM facilities are accessed throughout the day for planned curriculum and open ended learning and play. The Yeerongpilly Early Childhood Development Program, catering for Pre prep children with hearing loss, is a third school precinct.

About the Role
As the senior school Deputy Principal, you will play a vital role in improving the educational outcomes of students throughout our school as well as supporting, developing and leading quality teaching and learning. The successful candidate will nurture positive relationships between students, teachers, the community and stakeholders and support a disciplined school environment.
You will have responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery of the following key tasks:
- Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Deputise for the Principal when required.
- Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.

- Sets high standards for student and staff performance and has demonstrated influence on these outcomes
- Has deep knowledge of evidence informed teaching practice and the ability to work collaboratively with others
- Can demonstrate depth of knowledge about what motivates students to learn and achieve and has current understanding about evidence based approaches to supporting student engagement
