About Tagai State College

Tagai State College located in the Torres Strait comprises 16 Primary and one Secondary campus. These campuses are spread across 48,000 square kilometres of ocean. For most students, English is an additional language. The position is based on Thursday Island at the Secondary campus. There are 400 students enrolled across 7-12. The Campus has a very dedicated and dynamic leadership team comprising a Head of Campus, 3 X Deputy Principals and 5 X Heads of Department who have developed a robust improvement agenda which they are implementing with fidelity.

About the role

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Complete Deputy Principal duties such as timetabling, reporting, Oneschool management, Student management and student attendance and engagement
  • Implement Positive Culture for Learning with fidelity across the school including the Social and Emotional Learning curriculum
  • Lead the alignment of the three levels of planning
  • Lead case management processes across the school
  • Lead the implementation of student engagement initiatives
  • Work with community, parents and boarding partners to support students
  • Lead and develop innovative programs to improve student outcomes.
