Southern Cross Catholic College, Annandale has an exciting opportunity available to join their College Leadership Team in the role of Deputy Principal Secondary - Mission and Culture.  
This Role is a Full Time, 5 Year Contract commencing in 2021. 

About the role

The Deputy Principal Secondary – Mission and Culture will assume a senior leadership role as a member of the College leadership team to assist and develop staff to drive the development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate classroom teaching plans and resources.

Leadership presence is described as being present to the college community as an entity and as an individual. The presence of leadership of the Deputy Principal Secondary – Mission and Culture will be enacted through a variety of dynamics including: being physically present, being emotionally present, being spiritually present and being nurturing of the ethos and the story.

The Deputy Principal, as a member of the leadership team, assist the Principal in the Leadership of the College. By negotiation, the Deputy Principal may be expected to assume the delegated role of the Principal in their absence. 

Role responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Faith and Mission leadership
  • Oversee student behaviour management within the College
  • Facilitate and oversee the development of the Pastoral Program within the College
  • Assist with the Beginning Teacher Support Program
  • Ensure quality staff and volunteer inductions are provided
  • Actively promote staff health and well being
  • Oversee Teacher Mentoring program
  • Ensure compliance with Student Protection – Safe Person on campus
  • Ensure Teacher Registration Process is administered and managed
  • Student Representative Council
  • Oversee the orientation of new students
  • Oversee student uniform compliance
  • Support classroom teachers in monitoring school attendance/absenteeism
  • Assist with the development of information nights
  • Assist with College open days and expos
  • Oversee arrangements for retreats and camps
  • Review and revise as requires student: diaries, handbooks, prospectus's
  • Oversee student transition from years 6 into 7
  • Oversee years 7-12 enrolments
  • Student Leadership - SRC and College
  • Oversees the placement, induction and monitoring for preservice teachers
  • Tuckshop liaison (secondary).
