Position Information
Leppington Public School is a dynamic and rapidly growing learning community where staff, students and families work in partnership to support every student to learn, grow and achieve. High expectations, explicit evidence-informed teaching and collaborative practice support the academic, social and wellbeing needs of more than 600 diverse learners.
Significant capital works continue to transform our school, with current works including a new administration and library building, 23 additional permanent teaching spaces, a three-room preschool and three support classes, strengthening inclusive education and early learning opportunities for our community.
As a leading member of the Camden Valley Way Learning Alliance, we collaborate with local schools and community partners to provide rich academic, creative, sporting, leadership and High Potential and Gifted Education opportunities. Approximately 75% of our students come from language backgrounds other than English, reflecting the rich cultural and linguistic diversity of our community.
General Selection Criteria
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
1. In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary, student-centred leadership that is adaptive and responsive to the complexity and organisational change of a rapidly growing school, while developing sustainable systems and practices that address emerging needs and improve outcomes for all students.
2. Demonstrated expertise in leading inclusive education and wellbeing, building staff capability to effectively support students with diverse and complex learning, behavioural and wellbeing needs while fostering strong partnerships with families and the wider community.
3. Demonstrated capacity to develop self and others, through a culture of high expectations, reflective practice and meaningful feedback, including the ability to give, seek, receive and act on feedback to strengthen individual and collective practice.
4. Proven capacity to build trust, connection and shared responsibility with culturally and linguistically diverse families and communities, harnessing collective expertise and resources that support student learning, wellbeing and belonging.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
