The Deputy Principal (Head of Secondary) is a visible and aspirational leader who upholds and exemplifies EPIC's values in all interactions. Closely connected with the school community, the Deputy Principal (Head of Secondary) collaborates with all to codesign, implement and review the processes, policies, protocols and practices that effectively deliver on the College's mission, vision, and values. The role is accountable for setting, role-modelling and exceeding the highest standards of practice in teaching, learning, and wellbeing.

The position of Deputy Principal (Head of Secondary) oversees daily operations while assisting the Principal in driving strategic initiatives to ensure optimal learning environments. Deputising for and reporting to the Principal, the role supports the other Heads of School and Senior Leadership Team to cultivate learning and leading conditions for students and staff to flourish. Alongside the Principal, the Deputy Principal (Head of Secondary) builds capacity and agency in staff and students to pursue personal growth by articulating and role modelling those dispositions and attributes necessary for continuous improvement and excellence.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in educational leadership, curriculum development, staff management, and student wellbeing, fostering a positive school culture;
  • Strong skills in strategic planning, project & resource management, operations and community engagement;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, collaboratively promoting teamwork and inspiring staff, students, and the broader community towards continuous improvement;
  • a commitment to Islamic values and the ability to integrate these values into all aspects of school life.
