As Deputy Principal: Head of Junior School, you will join the Senior Executive Team to lead the Junior School (E–6). This dual role represents a significant leadership opportunity to influence school-wide culture, performance and direction, while shaping the formative years of a girl’s education through a deeply relational, future-focused and values-led approach.
The Deputy Principal: Head of Junior School leads with integrity, emotional intelligence and strategic vision. The role combines responsibility for academic leadership, student wellbeing, staff development, leadership mentoring, community engagement and operational management, while ensuring the Junior School delivers an outstanding educational experience grounded in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme and the Anglican ethos and mission of the School.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Active and visible commitment to the Christian faith with the ability to lead a culture where Anglican values, integrity, service and compassion shape the Senior School.
- Deep understanding of contemporary primary pedagogy and the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme with the capacity to lead high quality teaching and learning.
- Proven skill in leading and embedding improvement and change that enhances student experience, team performance and whole-school priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams through relational leadership, shared purpose, professional growth and accountability.
- Strategic and operational leadership experience in the effective management of a Junior School including staff, students, resources and compliance.
- Commitment to building an inclusive, future-focused community through visible leadership and strong engagement with students, families and staff.
Offered as a full-time ongoing executive role, with a Term 3 or 4 2026 commencement, applicants must be eligible to work in Australia, be accredited teachers, and be a practising Christian aligned with Tara’s Anglican ethos.
