About the Role

The Deputy Principal will complement other Student Services roles in the Darling Downs South West regional office, working closely with regional partners and school leadership teams to deliver outcomes. The position is for the 2025 school year and the role can be based in either Toowoomba, Warwick, Kingaroy or Roma regional offices. Reporting to the Director, Student Services, the Deputy Principal will deliver:

  • Leadership and services to improve educational outcomes for students, particularly students with diverse learning needs
  • Expert advice to support schools to implement the Department of Education's Inclusive Education Policy
  • Support delivery of evidence-based strategies to build more inclusive school learning environments.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work collaboratively to shape strategic thinking to promote and support delivery of inclusive practices in schools
  • Analyse and report on key school improvement data
  • Build skills and knowledge of school leadership teams in evidence-based strategies required to develop and deliver quality differentiated teaching and learning for students with diverse learning needs, as well as those in accordance with the Disability Standards for Education 2005
  • Participate in a network of Principal Advisor Inclusion and support the sharing of practices, specific training programs, resources, problem solving and advice
