About Capricornia School of Distance Education

Established in 1993, CSDE has a proud history of delivering distance education to students across the Central Queensland region.   We are the only 'dual campus' School of Distance Education (SDE) in Queensland. 

Our Rockhampton Campus shares a site with Glenmore State Primary and High School and delivers learning from eKindy to Year 12.  Our Emerald Campus also shares a site with Denison State School and delivers programs to learners from eKindy to Year 6.

About the Role

Capricornia School of Distance Education, with campuses in Rockhampton and Emerald, is seeking a dynamic Deputy Principal. The successful applicant will be responsible for improving student outcomes, enhancing teaching quality, and fostering strong relationships across the school community. Given the nature of distance education, strong technical skills are highly desirable.

This role requires leadership across both campuses, and the ability to travel between Rockhampton and Emerald is essential. The Deputy Principal will support staff development and promote collaboration among students, teachers, parents, and stakeholders, driving the continued success of the school.

In this role, you will:

  • Enhance Educational Outcomes: Lead initiatives to improve student achievement and foster a positive learning environment across the school.
  • Develop Teaching and Learning: Support and mentor staff in delivering high-quality teaching practices that engage students and encourage continuous improvement.
  • Build Strong Relationships: Promote collaboration and cultivate positive relationships between students, teachers, parents, and community stakeholders to ensure a supportive and inclusive school culture.
