About the Role

Responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to improving the department's security posture leveraging own experience in working with security frameworks (ISO27001, ACSC E8) and cyber risk evaluations.
  • Providing technical information in report format, which can be consumed by management and other departmental staff.
  • Providing advice and support to other departmental ICT operational teams, regional ICT teams, school representatives and other departmental staff, in relation to information security matters.
  • Reviewing current and proposed information systems for compliance with the department's obligations and adherence to overall security strategy (including legislation, regulatory, policies, standards, procedures) and provide recommendations for correction of information security issues
  • Contributing to the maintenance of policies, standards, procedures and documentation for information security.
  • Ensuring that information security records are accurate and complete and that requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures and service levels.
