The Curriculum Leader Religious Education position supports the mission of the College through leadership of the learning and teaching program. The ability to teach in Senior Study of Religion and/or religion, Meaning and Life is preferred. The position involves developing appropriate curriculum in line with State and Brisbane Catholic Education requirements; ensuring that appropriate pedagogies are developed and implemented at all levels; ensuring the quality of student learning and the effectiveness of teacher practice through appropriate supervision; utilising thorough analysis of current data to inform decisions; developing appropriate partnerships within and outside the College; and prudently administering available resources.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Curriculum Leader Religious Education. This is a tier 3 Middle Leadership position. This is a full-time continuing teaching appointment, with an initial two-year appointment as Middle Leader. Two subsequent three-year appointments as Middle Leader will be offered following a successful performance review. The position is released 12 hours per week.
As Curriculum Leader Religious Education, you will be responsible for:
• Leading the 7-12 RE curriculum in the College
• Supervising teachers engaged in Religious Education throughout Middle and Senior Years
• Induction of new teachers within Religious Education 7-12
• Pastoral care of staff engaged in the designated area of responsibility, and
• Other appropriate duties as required by the Principal.

About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience in Curriculum Leader Religious Education as well as:
- Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
- Commitment to child safety
- Hold appropriate qualifications and experience across all areas of 7-12 Religious Education
- A clear understanding of Brisbane Catholic Education’s Religious Education curriculum, QCAA’s Study of Religion and Religion and Ethics syllabi, and experience with QCAA quality assurance processes
- An ability to work in partnership with colleagues, students and parents/carers
- Attend in detail to innovative and creative practices
- Lead the development and delivery of a vision for the Religious Education
- Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven organisational skills
- Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
- Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.
At BCE our teachers are required to:
- Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
- Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
We support all teachers with Accreditation to Teach pathways after you start with us.
