Following a hugely successful year across the North East, Veritas Education is expanding its team of Cover Supervisors to meet growing demand from secondary schools throughout the 2026/27 academic year.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, sports coaches, youth workers and aspiring teachers to gain valuable classroom experience while enjoying flexible work that fits around your schedule.

What does a Cover Supervisor do?

You'll step into the classroom when teachers are absent, delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring pupils remain engaged and on task.

Typical duties include:

  • Supervising lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Supporting students with lesson activities and instructions
  • Building positive relationships with young people
  • Providing feedback to teaching staff following lessons
  • Helping schools maintain continuity of learning
