This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, youth workers, sports coaches, or individuals with transferable skills who are passionate about supporting young people in education.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff. You will deliver pre-set work, manage classroom behaviour, ensure students remain engaged with their learning, and maintain a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervising whole classes during teacher absence.
  • Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions.
  • Managing student behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Supporting students to complete work set by teaching staff.
  • Reporting back to relevant staff on lesson outcomes and behaviour.
  • Ensuring the safeguarding and wellbeing of all pupils.

    • Requirements

    To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring, youth work, or similar setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
  • A confident, professional, and adaptable approach.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
