Veritas Education is currently recruiting confident and reliable Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Normanton and the wider Wakefield area. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced cover supervisors, or individuals with experience working with young people who are looking to gain valuable school-based experience.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning by supervising classes during teacher absences and ensuring students remain focused and engaged with pre-set work.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:
Supervising whole classes in the absence of the class teacher.Delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring students complete assigned work.Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies.Creating a positive and productive learning environment.Supporting students with their learning and responding to queries where appropriate.Providing feedback to teaching staff regarding lesson progress and student behaviour.Working across a variety of subjects and year groups.We Are Looking For Individuals Who:
Have experience working with young people in schools, coaching, youth work, tutoring, mentoring, or similar settings.Are confident leading groups of students in a classroom environment.Possess strong communication and behaviour management skills.Can remain calm, professional, and adaptable in different school settings.Are organised, reliable, and enthusiastic about supporting education.Have a genuine interest in helping young people succeed.Ideal For:
