  • Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with teaching assistants, parents and carers, therapists, psychologists, social workers and other professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent, individualised support.

  • Life Skills and Personal Development: Deliver learning opportunities that promote independence, communication, social interaction and essential life skills.

  • Sensory Learning and Regulation: Plan and deliver sensory-based activities, sensory circuits and Zones of Regulation strategies to support engagement and emotional well-being.

  • PSHE and Wider Learning: Support pupils in developing practical knowledge and skills around relationships, personal hygiene, sleep, safety and everyday life.

  • Professional Development: Participate in relevant training, workshops and educational visits to enhance pupils' learning experiences and your own professional development.

  • Key Requirements

  • A patient, empathetic and nurturing approach, with the ability to build positive relationships and trust with vulnerable pupils.

  • Strong emotional resilience, with the ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain clear, consistent boundaries.

  • Excellent communication, active listening and conflict resolution skills.

  • Experience working with children or young people with additional needs in educational, care or specialist support settings.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification desirable.

  • An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is mandatory. We can provide guidance on obtaining one if required.
