Reporting to the Wellbeing Lead, the Counselling Support Partner supports school leaders and the Counselling team to provide student wellbeing support, as part of the CSBB Wellbeing framework and practices.

This role collaborates with and provides professional guidance, supervision and support to our Primary and Secondary School Counsellors.

As a senior clinician, this role is responsible for ensuring that counsellors allocated to them meet the requirements of their professional counselling accreditation, including regulatory bodies such as the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency, the Australian Psychological Society, and/or the Australian Association of Social Work.

This is a permanent, full-time position based at our head office in Pennant Hills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical support for school counsellors, to ensure service provision to schools is appropriate and best practice models align to CSBB requirements and code of conduct, and professional standards of the Australian Psychological Society and Australian Association of Social Workers
  • Coordinate and guide the administration of psychometric mental health screeners and assessment
  • Monitor the quality of school counselling services within a culture of continuous improvement
  • Coordinate clinical supervision for school counsellors (K-12), including delivering supervision directly
  • Support and maintain CSBB's response protocols and policies, in relation to behaviour support, student wellbeing and significant mental health concerns such as Part 5a legislation, problematic sexualised behaviour, self-harm and suicidal ideation
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations for school leaders and counsellors about mental health issues and their impact on learning and student wellbeing
  • Ensure files and records of the school counselling service are managed in line with privacy and confidentiality requirements aligned to APS standards
