About the Role
St Francis Xavier College is seeking to recruit a Construction, Design and Technology Teacher. St Francis Xavier College is committed to excellence and innovation in teaching and learning and to preparing our students for 21st Century work, life, and leisure. Our classrooms are places of support and nurture where we are teaching our students to think critically and creatively, and to collaborate and communicate with skill and confidence. This position will suit a teacher who has the ability and commitment to add to the dynamism of our vision for 21st Century education and the qualifications and commitment to teach across Years 7 to 12.
The Technology faculty is a highly skilled, professional, creative and dynamic team who is passionate about the Design and Technology curriculum. In conjunction with teaching the course, the teacher is charged with keeping up to date with changes in the curriculum and developing new resources. Commitment to professional development is essential, as is excellent skills in the use of technology in the classroom.
The successful applicant will have a genuine love of Design and Technology and delight in the wonderful exploration of ideas in the classroom. As part of a vibrant team the successful applicant will contribute both professionally and collegially to the team. Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills will be important, as well as a commitment to enhance learning in all facets of the Technologies curriculum.

Qualifications
- Bachelor of Teaching or Master in Teaching.
- Tertiary educational qualifications in Design & Technology.
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
- Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) accreditation.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated ability to maximise student learning through the delivery of high-quality teaching programs, employing effective and high yielding, pedagogical practices;
- Capacity to actively employ technology seamlessly to assist in effective learning;
- Ability to implement cooperative learning strategies to increase engagement through student centred learning; and
- Willingness to uphold active and continuous professional learning that is relevant to their area of discipline as well as concerns and debates in the education sphere more generally.
