Computing Teacher (Secondary School - Maidstone, Kent)

A dynamic and supportive secondary school in the town of Maidstone is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Computing Teacher to join their team from September.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated educator to join a forward-thinking school on a temporary basis from September through to Christmas, with a strong possibility of the role being extended into 2027.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging Computing lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop essential digital literacy, programming skills, and an understanding of how technology shapes the modern world.

Start Date: September Contract: Full-time, temporary (September - Christmas initially) Potential Extension: Through to 2027 Location: Maidstone, Kent

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Computing lessons in line with the national curriculum
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential)
  • Develop students' skills in programming, computational thinking, and digital literacy
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress accurately and effectively
  • Contribute to curriculum development within the Computing/ICT department
  • Promote safe and responsible use of technology
  • The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Strong subject knowledge in Computing/Computer Science
  • Experience teaching in a secondary school environment (ECTs welcome to apply)
  • Confidence in teaching programming languages such as Python or similar (desirable)
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills
  • A passion for inspiring students in STEM and digital skills
