About the Role

As the Community Liaison Officer at Woodridge State High School, you will play a vital role in strengthening the connection between the school and community. You will assist in building strong school community partnerships with a diverse range of partners and groups.

You will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to optimise school community networks and partnerships. A key focus will be analysing existing consultative processes and implementing effective contemporary communication strategies to improve engagement with parents, carers, and the wider school community. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement strategies for effective links between home and school related issues and to encourage greater interest and participation in school activities and programs.
  • Facilitate opportunities for parents to raise concerns and advocate for equity of service provision.
  • Promote activities to provide information to parents, the school and its community, and facilitate community development activities to improve relations between the school and its community.
  • Act as the contact for parents/carers in our multicultural community to determine relevant issues for improved relationships between the school and its community.

About You

The following traits would be beneficial:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in community engagement or working with multicultural communities.
  • Ability to plan and deliver presentations or workshops for parents and community groups.
  • Organisational skills to manage volunteer programs and maintain accurate records.
  • Understanding of educational trends and policies to support community awareness and involvement.
