Position Information

Dubbo College, enrolling approximately 1850 students. Dubbo College is the largest provider of secondary education in Dubbo. The College consists of a Senior Campus, catering for students in Years 11 and 12, and two junior campuses, Delroy Campus and South Campus, catering for students in Years 7 to 10.

Dubbo College Delroy Campus has an enrolment of 515 students. The campus delivers education across stages 4 and 5. The school has eight support classes and three other specialised classes focusing on targeted individual support. Approximately 55% of our students identify as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. 

Dubbo College South Campus has a current enrolment of 756 students in stages 4 and 5. There are 9 Specialist Support classes with an enrolment of 71 students. 41% of students identify as Aboriginal 

Dubbo College Senior Campus (DCSC) delivers a wide range of Stage 6 courses. Student enrolment is currently 629. 30.5% of students identify as having an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) background. There are nine classes in the Support Unit.

General Selection Criteria

1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education.

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs.

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach. In addition to the general selection criteria,

  • Demonstrated High level leadership skills with the ability to effectively partner with the 3 campus principals to foster a collaborative and aligned college model for excellence and equity.
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop a strategic partnerships K-12 delivering a high expectations culture resulting in excellent student outcomes.
  • Outstanding understanding and delivery of inclusive education through a lens of culture and diversity so that all students are successfully placed to experience strong positive life outcomes.
  • Proven ability and or skills to leverage a strengths-based culture focussed on cross campus opportunities including curriculum, pedagogical practice and leadership.
  • Excellent communication with relational trust to co design the college vision with all stakeholders.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P5 for 2024 and 2025.
