About the Role:
School cleaners play a vital role in the school community by reducing the spread of disease through high standards of cleaning practices and keeping the appearance of the school at a high standard. It is the responsibility of school cleaners to deliver a clean and hygienic learning environment for all students, staff and visitors.
You will need to be an enthusiastic person, who takes initiative & pride in your work. The successful applicant will be engaged in split shift with the morning shift being 6.00a.m. to 8.00a.m. and the afternoon shift being 2.30p.m. to 5.30p.m. or as negotaited with the Principal. A split shift allowance will be paid each day a split shift is worked.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- General cleaning of classrooms, staff room, library, community hall and amenities that includes cleaning windows, pictures, doorknobs, taps, sinks, drinking fountains, lavatory basins, glassware, glass doors and cupboards etc.
- Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities and sick bays.
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
- Cobweb and mildew control, utilising extendable equipment as necessary.
- Cleaning of concrete, bitumen, asphalt paved surfaces and astro turf.
- Disposal of rubbish and litter control including removal of material from drains and gutters between and/or surrounding buildings.
