About Toogoolawah State High School
We are a small high school located in the Brisbane Valley township of Toogoolawah and nestled in a beautiful rural and setting surrounded by native Australian flora and fauna. Our school provides high quality public education to all students of the Brisbane Valley via a positive learning environment that enables our student to reach their full potential.
About the Role
School cleaners play a vital role in the school community by reducing the spread of disease through high standards of cleaning practices and keeping the appearance of the school at a high standard. It is the responsibility of school cleaners to deliver a clean and hygienic learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- All aspects of cleaning and sanitising across a variety of areas - general classrooms and staffrooms, Manual Arts areas, Home Economics areas, Special Education classrooms, Sports and Multi-purpose Halls, Gymnasium, Library and main office areas.
- Maintaining equipment, and appropriate use of chemicals.
- Disposal of rubbish and litter control.
- Securing buildings, and activating and disarming school security systems.
- Undertake high levels of cleaning with limited supervision.
- Contribute to the health and safety of our school.
- Report or remove potential workplace health and safety hazards.
- Lead and model safe and healthy behaviour.
- Ensure the safe use of cleaning equipment, materials and chemical supplies.
- Other relevant cleaning duties as directed by the Principal or nominated delegate.
- Have an awareness of the need for security of school/personal property and equipment.
- A team player mentality, with excellent time management skills.
- High attention to detail.
- An ability to prioritise tasks and be flexible.
- A proven ability to work independently and harmoniously within a team environment to achieve quality outcomes.
