About Us:
Queensland Pathways State College (QPSC) is a senior transition program for 15 to 17 year olds who face significant barriers in accessing mainstream education. We actively identify, develop and facilitate clear pathways to post-school education, training or employment, while focusing on student-centred learning, student wellbeing, vocational development and community partnerships.
The Mount Isa campus is a purpose-built facility nestled in the heart of Mount Isa. It offers a vibrant and inclusive learning environment designed to support students. With access to technology, a wide range of learning resources and comfortable relaxation areas, the campus is built for both academic success and personal wellbeing. Students can enjoy unique features such as a welcoming yarning circle, expansive indoor and outdoor learning spaces and a basketball court.
About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Perform routine and detailed cleaning of buildings and facilities, including classrooms, offices, amenities, sick bays, windows, fittings, furniture, floors, and high-touch surfaces.
- Maintain internal and external areas through sweeping, hosing, vacuuming, dusting, cobweb and mildew control, graffiti removal, and cleaning of paved and hardstand surfaces.
- Operate, clean, and maintain cleaning equipment and safely manage waste, including rubbish removal and clearing drains and gutters around buildings.
- Carry out floor care duties, including vinyl and timber floor stripping, buffing, polishing, and general surface maintenance.
- Support school security by locking and unlocking buildings and activating or disarming security systems as required.
- Liaise with school leadership regarding cleaning supplies and equipment, report safety, security, or damage concerns, assist members of the public appropriately, and undertake other duties as directed.
