About Us:

Our site is unique and a beautiful place to work, situated in a stunning forest setting. We have a friendly, professional team who take great pride in our site's presentation and in providing excellent service to our visiting schools. Numinbah Valley Environmental Education Centre provides experiential learning programs to students from Prep to Year 12, with environmental, sustainability and First Nations themes embedded. We run both overnight camps and day visits onsite, with some programs run offsite as well. We operate with a high level of Health and Safety standards, detailed operating procedures and quality equipment to undertake tasks linked to role responsibilities. Sustainability practices are visible across our site and woven into learning activities and programs. We highlight and demonstrate how we run on solar power, access tank water, use worm farms to compost biotic waste and separate abiotic items for recycling. Keep Queensland Beautiful has awarded us their highest accreditation level - a 5-star Cleaner Greener School.

About the Role:

  • Contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the site by providing a high level of cleaning support.
  • Ensure that the duties prescribed for the position are completed to an acceptable standard as determined by their supervisor, in accordance with the approved school cleaning program.
  • School based cleaning would be ideal.

At our site, you will be cleaning inside halls, classrooms, office spaces, kitchens, amenities and cabins.

Outside areas in a bush setting, will include paths (some with incline and steps), covered areas, verandas, terraced paths and storage areas.

No two days are the same, as we run a diverse array of learning programs for a range of age groups. This means that organisational skills, knowing how and what to prioritise; and being flexible and adaptable will be essential in undertaking this role. There is enough time given to complete required tasks and respectful, timely communication is essential in our workplace.

We are a small team, with a strong, supportive staff culture and we always step in to support and help each other as required. We are strengths-focused and develop all staff to be leaders and well-trained in their areas of responsibility.

This position is a Part-time role of 61 hours per fortnight or 0.80 FTE.
