About the Role

As a Cleaner, you will play a key role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our school facilities, ensuring a positive environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Clean and maintain assigned school areas to a high standard, ensuring classrooms, amenities, and shared spaces are safe, hygienic, and ready for students each day.
  • Follow established cleaning schedules, checklists, and routines — including morning readiness tasks and afternoon reset tasks.
  • Perform tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, wiping surfaces, emptying bins, cleaning amenities, spot cleaning walls/doors, and replenishing supplies.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment safely and report any faults, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Support whole-school hygiene standards by following infection control practices and using appropriate PPE and chemicals correctly.

About You

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleaning standards.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with school staff and reporting issues.
  • Experience in cleaning or maintenance roles (beneficial but not essential).
  • Basic understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
  • Basic computer skills e.g. receiving and replying to emails, reporting hazards using our online system, completing online mandatory training.
