St Francis Xavier Primary School currently promotes a Prep – 6 education. We have a very strong relationship with the Holy Family Parish. St Francis Xavier has grown with a student enrolment of 680 students and a staff of seventy five. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum with values centred on the Gospel teachings of Jesus where the uniqueness and dignity of the individual is paramount and respect and care for one another is an expectation.
This is supported by a real life and inclusive approach to Religious Education and Spiritual Formation which seeks to develop within our students the values lived out by our patron saint St Francis Xavier. St Francis Xavier Primary School seeks educators with a strong personal commitment to innovative, contemporary Catholic education, and a passion for working with children and young people in a P- 6 learning environment. We are looking for enthusiastic and innovative educators with the necessary qualifications and experience to contribute in an exemplary way to the learning environment at our school.
The structure of days worked per week are, Week A - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Week B - Monday, Tuesday.

• Accreditation/eligibility to teach Religious Education in Catholic Schools
• Well-developed communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work as part of a team
• An ability to effectively integrate learning technology in the classroom.
• Skills to co-operatively plan learning programs with teaching colleagues
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents and children
• Familiarity with the Australian curriculum and evidence of successful implementation.
About the role - As a dynamic and innovative member of our school community, you will:
- Create a nurturing and ordered learning environment which is learner-centred, safe, supportive, co-operative and aligned with relevant curriculum, policies and practices
- Collaborate with your peers to develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy
- Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
- Work with the school leadership team and colleagues to contribute to the professional life of the school
- Proactively engage with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
- Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.
About you - To be successful in this role you will bring relevant qualifications and contemporary teaching experience in Primary School teaching as well as:
- Strong literacy, numeracy and digital literacy practices plus a clear understanding of the Australian Curriculum
- Commitment to child safety
- Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven organisational skills
- Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best outcomes
- Demonstrated competence against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers across professional knowledge, practice and engagement.
At BCE our teachers are required to:
- Hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration; and
- Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
- Accreditation to Teach Religion in a Catholic School
- Had experience and enthusiasm for working in a Catholic Primary School setting.
- Have a commitment to Safeguarding

FAQ: Do I have to be Catholic?
If this role does not require you to teach Religious Education, you do not need to be Catholic.
We support all teachers with Accreditation to Teach pathways after you start with us.
