About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an approachable and caring Primary Classroom Teacher to join the supportive team at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Portland, NSW. The teacher in a Catholic school is someone who can encourage development and nurture the personal, spiritual and educational growth of each and every student. 

We are seeking a Teacher who understands and commits to supporting the mission and ethos of Catholic education within the school by:

  • Creating a learner-centred, supportive, and cooperative learning environment aligned with curriculum policies.

  • Developing and implementing quality curriculum programs using effective teaching methods; assess and report student progress.

  • Using inclusive teaching strategies and adapt practices for equitable education.

  • Analysing student assessment data to identify learning barriers and encourage improvement.

  • Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance student outcomes.

  • Collaborating with school leadership, staff, and contribute to school life.

  • Providing student supervision and assist in organising extracurricular activities.

About You
The new Primary Teacher will enrich the experiences of our students through contemporary teaching experience and aligning with the following selection criteria:

  • Hold relevant tertiary qualifications and accreditation to teach in NSW.

  • Capacity to monitor and assess student learning data and to use this data to inform teaching for improved student learning.

  • Demonstrate a commitment and capacity to actively contribute to a broad range of school activities and a capacity to reflect on, evaluate and improve professional knowledge and practice in a professional learning team. 

  • The desire to engage with and contribute to a Catholic learning organisation 

  • The ability to develop positive relationships in the classroom based on mutual respect, patience and understanding

  • Up to date knowledge of NESA and Australian Curriculum requirements for all stages in your KLA area
