Pay: £100-£115 per day Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm Full-Time | Term Time Only Location: Chigwell

Are you a patient, caring and enthusiastic Classroom Support Assistant looking to make a genuine difference in a specialist SEN setting?

We are recruiting for a Classroom Support Assistant to join a specialist school in Chigwell, supporting children and young people with a range of additional and complex needs.

The school supports pupils aged 5-19 years, from Primary through to Sixth Form, including pupils with Autism (ASD), SLD, PMLD, communication difficulties, sensory needs and complex learning difficulties.

The Role

As a Classroom Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the classroom.
  • Help pupils access lessons and engage with learning activities.
  • Support pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
  • Follow individual EHCP targets and learning plans.
  • Encourage independence, confidence and life skills.
  • Support pupils with sensory and physical needs where required.
  • Assist with personal care where required.
  • Help manage behaviour positively and calmly.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff.
  • Help create a safe, supportive and engaging classroom environment.

    • Who We're Looking For

    The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.
  • Previous experience within SEN, education, care, support work, youth work or a similar setting.
  • A patient, caring and resilient approach.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Confidence working with pupils who may have complex needs.
  • A genuine passion for helping children and young people develop.
  • A valid Child and Adult DBS would be highly desirable.

    • Experience supporting ASD, SLD, PMLD, sensory needs, communication difficulties or challenging behaviour would be beneficial.
