We are now inviting applications for a suitably experienced Primary School Classroom Assistant to join the Willunga Waldorf School learning support staff at the earliest opportunity.

About You
The successful applicant will have a genuine interest in and warmth for assisting children in a Waldorf classroom setting. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, be a good observer and listener, and able to follow the teacher’s methodology. With your positive outlook and general attitude, you are willing and able to find ways of meeting and supporting each child where they are at.
About the Role
As a classroom assistant in the primary school, you will assist the Class and Specialist Teachers in creating an inclusive, supportive, and creative learning environment for the children, and in particular for children with additional learning support needs. You will also support teachers with the successful transition of any students joining WWS from another school.
The primary focus of this position will be providing learning support in the upper primary school years (classes 4-7).
Key Selection Criteria
- Excellent interpersonal skills with children
- Experience and interest in working with students with additional learning needs
- Knowledge or an understanding of the Rudolf Steiner Curriculum
- Ability to find ways of meeting an individual’s needs that work
- Good observer and listener
- Ability to use initiative and to accept guidance and feedback
- Excellent time management and personal organizational skills
- Experience in working with neuro-diverse children, or commitment to learn as required
- Ability to adhere to the confidentiality requirements of a school environment
- Must have full working rights in Australia

Essential Qualifications/Certificates
- Certificate III in Education Support, or comparable diploma or Higher Degree, or equivalent professional experience
- Current SA Working with Children Check
- Current RRHAN-EC training certificate
- Current Provide First Aid in an Education and Care setting certificate
