We are seeking a Campus Minister to play an integral role in ensuring that the distinct Catholic culture of Clairvaux MacKillop College is explicitly celebrated, visible, expressive and lived.
The role holder encourages the realisation of the potential of being human by developing the catholic heart, spirit and intellect of our community of students, staff and families.
There is a core focus on celebrating our faith, by embodying a contemporary Catholic world view that is in dialogue with other Christian traditions and faiths.
Attributes and Capabilities
- Demonstrated track record of success in youth ministry in a school or other context/similar skills and experience.
- Committed, practising Catholic with deep understanding of the purpose and mission of the Catholic Church and Catholic schools
- A person of prayer, conviction and compassion, passionate about enhancing student and adult faith journeys.
- An understanding of evangelisation and the faith development of individuals in the contemporary context of the mission of the Catholic story.
- An understanding of spiritual formation as accompaniment of others in their spiritual journey.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work strategically, collaboratively and creatively to implement effective spiritual and theological development practices within our Catholic education context.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills with ability to inspire and build relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to initiate and strengthen professional networks across BCE and external stakeholders.
- Appropriate level of professional qualification both formal and informal and/or relevant experience in areas such as youth ministry, religious education, theology, spirituality or similar.
- Professional activity through membership of professional associations and on-going professional development as applicable.
Eligibility Criteria
- willingness and commitment to support the mission and ethos of Catholic education
- currently hold or be eligible to hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card or hold current registration as Teacher with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
- formal or informal experience in working with young people in a Christian context (e.g. formal experience may involve paid work with a registered youth organisation whereas informal experience may involve volunteer work with a local Parish youth group)
- hold or be willing to successfully complete a Graduate Certificate in Religious Education (Campus Ministry) or equivalent as recognised by BCE (e.g. 4 units at university level in Religious Education or Theology or Ministry or similar related field)
