Catholic Schools Broken Bay supports the work of school principals and staff, parents and Parish priests in providing quality education to students from Kindergarten to Year 12 living in the northern suburbs of Sydney and the Central Coast of New South Wales.

Specific Criteria

 

  • Supportive of the Catholic Ethos of the Diocese of Broken Bay
  • Highly effective, skilled classroom practitioner
  • Coordinate the EOCS support class program across multiple CSBB campus locations
  • Current knowledge of The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and Disability Standards for Education
  • Current knowledge of the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD), its processes and obligation to schools
  • Develop, implement, assess, and monitor the individual plans for each student in the support class, including behaviour and personal care support plans
  • Collaborate with CSBB teachers, Learning Partners and external health and wellbeing service providers to ensure students are engaged in learning with successful outcomes
  • Facilitate safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive behaviour for learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Successful experience in building the capacity of teachers to support children with disability
  • Committed to supporting student wellbeing
  • Ensure a Duty of Care towards, engage professionally with, and provide a safe and supportive environment for, the students entrusted to our care
  • Fulfil all legal, policy and reporting obligations when working with Children as required

Applicants who are not currently working in a Broken Bay systemic school must have a 4-year training qualification or be enrolled to undertake further study that will provide them with a four-year trained qualification to be eligible to apply for any teaching position in the Diocese.

Qualifications and Accreditations

  • Practising Catholic and/or can demonstrate an understanding and commitment to, the ethos of the Catholic faith in an educational context 
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in accordance with the Enterprise Agreement
  • NESA accredited as Proficient.
  • Accredited to be a teacher of Religious Education or in the process of completing RE accreditation (applicable for Primary teachers)
  • Valid Working with Children Check 
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence (and own car required)
