Now that we’ve covered that…

This role exists because we’re growing.
Not because someone left.
Not because something went wrong.

We’re expanding, thoughtfully and we need another exceptional Business Operations Manager to help lead the next chapter.

Location & Portfolio

This role will focus on our growing western corridor (Geelong, Tarneit and surrounds). Portfolio allocation will be thoughtfully designed based on your location and existing team structures to ensure strong regional alignment.

You’ll oversee a small portfolio of services, giving you the space to form strong relationships, understand each service deeply, and make meaningful impact commercially and pedagogically.

Because connection matters, this role involves regular travel across your portfolio (and occasionally interstate). We believe in showing up not leading from afar.

At Story House, you’re not managing chaos. You’re building capability.

You’ll report directly to your State Manager, partner closely with Service Managers, and collaborate with our Pedagogical Practice Partners who drive STRONG Beginnings, our organisational curriculum framework, driving consistent, high-quality practice across our services while empowering each team to reflect its local community.

You won’t be doing this alone.

Behind you is a whole Support Office team, finance, people & culture, compliance, pedagogy, marketing and more ready to step in, guide, problem-solve and back your decisions.

What we’re looking for

  • You’re commercially savvy, but people-first.
  • You understand assessment & rating and know how to lift services toward Exceeding.
  • You can read a budget and read a room.
  • You build trust quickly and hold standards confidently.
  • You know the ECEC sector inside out and thrive in momentum.

If you’re ready to lead within a growing organisation that invests in people, practice and performance  we’d love to hear from you.
