About Westmar State School

Westmar State School is located in the northwestern region of Darling Downs South West Region and services the area of Westmar.

Westmar is located on the Moonie Highway 74 km west of Moonie and 120 km east of St George.
The school has been established for 51 years and serves a farming and grazing community.

About the Role

As the Business Manager you will undertake work across a broad ranage of activities, including finance, human resources (HR) and facilities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to the day to day management of support staff within the school, including identifying corporate service issues, coordinating recruitment and selection, induction and training of support staff and where necessary, provide Injury Management support for staff.
  • Interpreting departmental and school policies, guidelines and ensuring legislative and procedural requirements are met.
  • Assist the Principal in identifying workforce needs including maintaining accurate records, tracking staff data, monitoring staff replacement and ensuring all relevant compliance training is valid and current.
  • Assist with the daily supervision of support staff by monitoring workloads, identifying workforce skills needs, and highlighting any performance issues to the Principal including research of professional development opportunities for support staff
