About the Role

This position performs most of the duties outlined in the Business Manager role description in a busy office environment.

Essential skills are: -

  • Able to work independently, and pro-actively manage your own tasks & priorities
  • This position largely self-manages their own tasks, priorities and deadlines
  • Limited on-site training will be provided, so you must be able to rapidly acquire knowledge through self-driven learning activities
  • You will have many competing priorities, timelines and deadlines. Good time and task management abilities are essential

Finance

  • In-depth understanding and experience with, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge in using OneSchool Finance for all activities relating to Accounts Payable, Invoicing & Accounts Receivable, Budgeting, General Ledger, Monthly Bank Reconciliation, Taxation knowledge and OneSchool Finance system administration
  • Ability to understand and use SBS Finance and Staffing for budget management
  • Ability to undertake Corporate Card training if necessary, and acquire a Corporate Card, as well as complete the monthly reconciliation processes for all card holders
  • Ability to attain Intermediate Purchasing Training certification, if not already done

Human Resources

  • Understanding and execution of all standard departmental HR forms and processes including awards and enterprise bargaining agreements, leave policies, and recruitment & selection processes
  • Assist with rostering and management of Teacher Aide hours of duty
  • Ability to supervise administrative and support staff
  • Usage of SBS Staffing for Day 8 and ongoing staffing processes

Facilities

  • Proactively, and reactively manage school facilities including, but not limited to:-
  • Asbestos Management in Schools processes and BEMIR
  • Managing and processing facility maintenance tasks

Asset Management

  • Asset Management activities related to acquiring new assets, replacing and/or disposing old assets, CFT management and asset stocktaking
  • Office & People Management
  • Maintaining stock levels and equipment in the administration area and around the school, handling accommodation and other grounds management issues

Highly Desirable Skills are :-

  • IT System management and administration
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire an understanding of, IT systems used at Warwick East, including but not limited to:-
  • TLM Timesheet Management System and Face Scanner
  • Mitel Telephone system
