St Michael's College, a thriving co-educational Catholic Secondary College on the Gold Coast, is seeking a strategic, passionate, and dedicated Business Manager to join our vibrant community. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our College’s infrastructure, ensuring our facilities meet the growing needs of our school community. The Business Manager will be responsible for leading, planning and the delivery of administrative, financial and daily operations support across the school to achieve strategic goals and operational objectives.

 

In this pivotal role, you will:

Lead Strategically: Drive strategic and operational excellence, ensuring the smooth financial, administrative and facilities management of the college while contributing to its long-term growth and success. Design and implement enhancements to campus facilities and manage complete projects from planning through to execution.

Collaborative & Team Leadership: Collaborate with our leadership team, staff, and stakeholders to align business operations with the school’s mission, vision and strategic direction. Supervise and support the Grounds and Maintenance team, Administration and Finance Team fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

Deliver with Precision: Bring exceptional attention to detail, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency in all financial, administrative and daily operations and functions.

Strive for excellence: Demonstrate a proactive, solutions-focused approach, and contribute meaningfully to the success and growth of our school community.

Finance: In collaboration with the College Principal, Plan, Develop and manage the College’s budget, financial resources and general assets ensuring cost effective solutions while maintaining quality and safety.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance or relevant disciplines supported by appropriate commercial/educational experience. Post graduate qualifications in Business (CAANZ/CPA/MBA) will be highly regarded.
  • Strategic vision, combined with practical expertise and the ability to see both the big picture and finer details.
  • Have prior experience managing a wide range of administration, financial and daily operations matters and managing cross-functional areas.
  • Have current working knowledge and understanding of accounting practices, proven ability to develop and manage budgets and negotiate with contractors
  • Have sound knowledge and understanding of the building and construction industry inclusive of project management
  • Have excellent organisational, time management and leadership skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with various stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Have a commitment to making a difference in the community and contributing to something bigger.
