About this job

Our School

Park Ridge State School is an Independent Public School catering for students from Prep to Year 6. The school is located in the Park Ridge suburb of Logan West in the South East Region of the Department of Education and Training.

From its humble beginnings in 1895 as a single-room rural school with ten children and one teacher, Park Ridge State School has evolved into a large campus comprising 24 classes and approximately 600 students. There is a strong emphasis on effective literacy and numeracy teaching, as well as student engagement in learning.

All students are supported through a multi-tiered system of support, facilitated by Engagement Teachers and Teacher Aides to ensure that student needs and wellbeing are met. In addition, we have a dedicated wellbeing team to support students and their families. This team includes our Guidance Officer, Social Worker, Chaplain, and additional school staff.

Teaching staff work in year-level Professional Learning Teams to collaborate and continuously improve student learning and achievement. The school utilises the Positive Behaviour for Learning framework and social-emotional capability development to equip students with the skills and competencies needed for social and emotional growth. Our staff are intentional in engaging children in positive and meaningful experiences to increase engagement and promote school as a place of connection, belonging, and learning.

Our facilities include refurbished classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboard technology, a school hall, a resource centre with a library and STEM lab, a swimming pool, exceptionally large outdoor play spaces, and a tuckshop. We also offer an Outside School Hours Care service, providing before and after school care as well as vacation care.

At Park Ridge State School, we reinforce our expectations for students to be safe, kind learners every day. We are purposeful in creating a positive and supportive school community where all stakeholders are valued and feel a strong sense of belonging.
