About us:
Lower Tully State School is co-educational and offers classes from Prep to Year 6. It is located in the tropical heartland on the Cassowary Coast and is set amongst the cane fields of Lower Tully. The school services the Lower Tully District that encompasses the geographical area of Silky Oak and the beaches areas of Tully and Hull Heads. It was established in 1932, and is located 13km from Tully and approximately 8km from the Heads areas.
Classrooms are fully air-conditioned and are complemented by two playground areas, a covered tennis court with lighting and an activities building. The Lower Tully school community takes great pride in the presentation of our school and grounds including the magnificent Elouera Oval which is an exceptional sporting arena. It has been host to the eight visiting schools in the Cassowary Coast Southern Zone for the annual District Athletics Carnival for the past 10 years.

Your opportunity:
As the Business Manager you will be responsible for the effective and efficient administrative management of the school by providing corporate services and administrative support to the Principal.
You will work within well-defined guidelines to provide advice and offer solutions to key stakeholders (external and internal) on business related problems (e.g. human resources, finance and facilities management), and have responsibility for autonomously delivering on priorities, seeking expert advice, adapting processes, problem solving and providing solutions according to clear outcomes, with regular guidance by the Principal.
Responsibilities include:
- Administration: Manage daily office operations, records, correspondence and OneSchool systems.
- Staff Management: Supervise support staff, manage workloads, timesheets, leave and rosters, and assist with recruitment and training.
- Finance: Assist with budgeting, financial tracking, invoicing, payments, banking, reconciliations and debt collection.
- Facilities: Assist with maintenance, minor works, permits, assets and external facilities management.
- Technology: Coordinate technical support and maintenance for school equipment and systems.
- Publications: Prepare and publish the fortnightly newsletter and support school communications and events.
- Stakeholder Support: Communicate with staff, students, parents and community members, providing advice and practical solutions.
- Compliance & Improvement: Follow policies and legislation, monitor services, identify improvements and support quality business practices.
- Student Support: Promote student welfare, respect and a positive school environment.
- Flexibility: Responsibilities may vary depending on the employee's allocated hours and school needs.
