About the Schools
Bloomfield River State School is a co-educational institution that serves students from Prep to Year 6. Located 80 km south of Cooktown, the school enjoysa scenic coastal setting with three distinct ecosystems: beach, river, and dense rainforest. It caters to the communities of Bloomfield, Ayton, and WujalWujal. The school has three multi-age classrooms, and its curriculum is based on the Australian Curriculum achievement standards, contextualized to fit the unique environment when possible.
Rossville State School is located approximately 40km south of Cooktown, tucked away in the rainforest. The school services the localities of Rossville, Helenvale and Mungumby, and has a close relationship with other schools in the Southern Cape Cluster. Year levels are divided into 2 classes - Prep- 2 and 3-6.The staff share positive working relationships with both the students and each other, and enjoy a high level of trust and autonomy, resulting in shared ownership of positive learning outcomes.
Your Role
- You will work within well-defined guidelines to provide advice and offer solutions to key stakeholders (external and internal) on business related problems (e.g. human resources, finance and facilities management);
- You will have responsibility for autonomously delivering on priorities, seeking expert advice, adapting processes, problem solving and providing solutions according to clear outcomes, with regular guidance by the Principal.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Operate autonomously to undertake day to day office procedures within well-defined policies (e.g. reception, arranging appointments, correspondence, maintaining school records and general administration)
- Undertake the day-to-day supervision and management of school support staff, including monitoring workloads and performance
- Oversee the signatories/approval of timesheets, leave applications, rosters, and arrange relief for school support staff, and organise, undertake and coordinate the recruitment, induction and training of school support staff.
- Assist the Principal with the preparation of the school budget and administer day to day financial matters (i.e. accounts payable/receivable, corporate card monitoring, reconciliations, banking).
