Behaviour Teaching Assistant (1:1 SEN & SEMH Support) Are you a resilient, compassionate, and dedicated Behaviour Teaching Assistant looking to positively impact a young person's educational journey?

We are seeking a Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Brent, providing 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

The Role

As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a pupil on a one-to-one basis, supporting their academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and behaviour management throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN and SEMH needs

Building a positive and trusting relationship to encourage engagement in learning

Supporting behaviour regulation and implementing agreed behaviour strategies

Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to support the student's individual needs

Promoting positive social interactions and emotional development

Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

Creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment

We are looking for someone who:

Has experience working with children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or behavioural needs

Can remain calm, patient, and positive in challenging situations

Has strong behaviour management and communication skills

Is passionate about supporting young people to succeed both academically and personally

Can build strong professional relationships with students, staff, and parents

Has experience in a school, youth work, mentoring, support work, or similar setting (desirable)
