Behaviour Mentor - SEN Centre (Linked to Secondary School)
Location: West London Contract: Long-term, ongoing Working Pattern: Term-time only Start Date: ASAP / Flexible for the right candidate
About the Role
We are seeking a committed and resilient Behaviour Mentor to support the daily running of a specialist SEN centre linked to a mainstream secondary school. This is a long-term, rewarding role supporting students with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, ASD, and behavioural challenges.
The successful candidate will work closely with the SEN Team Leader and wider pastoral staff to create a safe, inclusive, and structured environment where students can thrive both socially and academically.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support to students with SEN/SEMH needs.Implement behaviour plans and de-escalation strategies confidently and consistently.Support the smooth running of the SEN centre, ensuring routines and expectations are maintained.Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress.Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external agencies.Model emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour at all times.Contribute to safe-guarding and wellbeing processes within the school.Requirements
Experience supporting young people with behavioural or social-emotional needs (school or alternative provision experience desirable).Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.A calm, empathetic, and patient approach.Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).What We Offer
