Autism Support Assistant - Stockton on Tees

Veritas Education are now seeking dedicated, compassionate and caring Autism Support Assistants to work across SEN provisions and mainstream schools across the Stockton on Tees area.

Roles available will be full-time (as well as part-time in some instances) on a long-term temporary basis.

Requirements:

  • Previous school-based experience (or relevant experience supporting young people)
  • Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • DBS on the update service (child and adult workforce)

    • Nature of role:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support
  • Assist students in accessing and participating in both group and individual learning activities
  • Encourage and support students in developing self-help, social, and daily living skills, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Support teachers in managing classroom behaviour and following behavioural support plans.
  • Work closely with SEN Coordinators and other professionals such as speech and language therapists to develop and implement strategies.
