About the Role:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Attendance administration: Manage administrative processes for the School Attendance Policy, including recording planned and unplanned student absences via QParents, phone calls, texts and emails, unmarked roll follow-up, student exits/exclusions, and processing exemptions and leave forms.
- Monitoring and reporting absences: Coordinate with year level Deputy Principals regarding unexplained absence letters, track chronic absenteeism, and collect and analyse attendance data to identify patterns and reasons for absences.
- Student support and intervention: Provide attendance data and reports to the senior executive and student support teams to support interventions for students experiencing attendance and engagement challenges.
- Family engagement and attendance strategies: Build and maintain links between the school and families of students with persistent absences, assist teachers in addressing attendance barriers, and contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to improve school attendance.
- Support services and general office duties: Identify barriers to attendance and refer at-risk students to appropriate support services, while undertaking general office responsibilities such as filing, answering phones, first aid support and front counter assistance.
