About the Role

The Attendance Officer plays a key role in supporting the learning environment by monitoring student attendance, producing absence reports, and liaising with families to verify absences. This role also provides essential administrative support to the Principal and Business Manager, contributing to the smooth operation of the school.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Generating daily attendance reports, sending SMS notifications to families, and maintaining accurate records in OneSchool and spreadsheets.
  • Collaborating with teachers and school leaders to address chronic absenteeism and support student engagement.
  • Maintaining a database of students with unique circumstances, such as legal orders or independent living arrangements, to ensure accurate attendance tracking.
  • Building connections with families to address barriers to attendance and implementing strategies to improve student participation.
  • Providing general administrative support, including assisting at the student counter, managing timetable variations, and offering first aid when needed.
