About the Role
As a senior leader in our school, the Assistant Principal collaborates closely with the Principal to guide and nurture the school community as a centre of faith, inclusion, and missionary discipleship. This pivotal role shares responsibility for steering the school's mission and vision, ensuring the delivery of high-quality Catholic learning and teaching experiences. The Assistant Principal achieves this through various key functions:

  • Fostering a Faith Community – The Assistant Principal plays a crucial role in creating a vibrant faith community and inspiring leadership to foster a deep sense of spirituality and belief in Catholic values.

  • Cultivating a Student-Centered Learning Culture – The Assistant Principal will spearhead the development of a contemporary, student-centered learning environment to drive positive change and continuous improvement in the school.

  • Building Collaborative Partnerships – The Assistant Principal will work closely with stakeholders to support the faith journey, learning, and well-being of our students and staff. By fostering these relationships, they contribute significantly to a sense of belonging to the local Catholic community and parishes for our families and students.

  • Advancing the Vision of Catholic Education - The Assistant Principal actively promotes and upholds the vision and mission of Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst through their exemplary religious, educational, and enabling leadership. They act as a role model for our values and beliefs, ensuring they are deeply ingrained in the fabric of our school.

About You (Selection Criteria)
We are looking for someone able to meet the following selection criteria:

  • Aleader of learning, with the capacity to lead change and demonstrate contemporary pedagogy that focuses on improving student learning

  • Demonstrated experience in building teacher capacity and managing performance of individuals and teams

  • Proven capacity to lead the Professional Learning Culture of the school

  • Demonstrated ability to promote a culture of informed decision-making, transparency and collaboration around the use of data 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective change management skills 

  • Hold or is pursuing a Postgraduate Qualification in Education, Leadership, Theology or equivalent 

  • A practising Catholic with a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education, and an understanding of leadership in a Catholic context
