Position Information
Ruse Public School is located in South Western Sydney and has a student enrolment of 486. Our students come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds. We have 4 Support Unit classes, with 2 multicategorical classes, 1 autism class and 1 class that accommodates students with autism and moderate intellectual disabilities and the Itinerant Vision Team is located onsite. We have seen an increasing number of students with an EAL/D background, which currently sits at 30%. 7% of EAL/D families are from Arabic speaking backgrounds, which is growing and is our largest group. We have 11% Aboriginal students.

General Selection Criteria
Specific Selection Criteria
1. Approval to teach students with Vision Impairment (Itinerant) and evidence of successful teaching experience with students who are blind or with vision impairment.
2. Capacity to collaborate with and mentor colleagues to innovate and coordinate complex systems and procedures related to leadership of the vision team.
3. Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and monitor Personalised Learning and Support Plans that address the expanded core curriculum needs of students who are blind or students with vision impairment.
4. Demonstrated expertise in the provision of and instruction in the use of alternative media formats and current technologies to support students who are blind or with vision impairment.
5. Capacity to lead professional learning for teachers across various settings and mentor teaching staff to embed differentiated learning to meet the individual needs of all students.
6. Knowledge and understanding of NSW Department of Education mandatory processes and systems.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
