About this job
Position Information
Terrigal Public School, located on the NSW Central Coast, has an enrolment of 898 students across 35 mainstream classes and three support classes. Each support class caters for seven students: one for students with moderate or severe intellectual disabilities (IO/IS), one for students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (AU), and one for students with both an intellectual disability and Autism Spectrum Disorder (IO/AU).
Our school community is diverse, with 43 Aboriginal students, 34 students who speak English as an additional language or dialect, and 77 students with a language background other than English. Our students come from a wide range of family, cultural and linguistic backgrounds and are known for being connected, inclusive, resilient and curious learners. Terrigal Public School is supported by an active and engaged community with high expectations for student success, equity and school excellence.
The school places a strong emphasis on the explicit teaching of literacy and numeracy, alongside a commitment to equity, inclusion, and high potential and gifted education. Student wellbeing and engagement are central priorities. Through the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework, the school fosters strong community partnerships, actively engaging families and wider stakeholders in ongoing improvement to ensure all students feel supported, valued and able to access high-quality learning.
We proudly acknowledge that we learn and work on land that is, was, and always will be Aboriginal land. Our Aboriginal students are supported to connect with culture and community, and all students participate in meaningful learning about Aboriginal culture, histories and perspectives.
